Aida Khatmullina is a children’s book illustrator based in Serbia. As a child, she always had a passion for creating and for studying art. She saw her first modern illustrated children’s books while studying Children’s Literature at university. After graduating with a BA in Philology, she decided to devote herself to illustrating children’s books, and taught herself digital painting before taking courses on picture book creation.

Her work is filled with a love of nature, and a passion for colors and cozy scenes from childhood. Her favourite medium is Procreate, as it allows her to both draw simple illustrations and mimic the texture of paint or pencils. She has experience in working with publishers (Clever Publishing, Purple Butterfly Press) as well as children’s production companies (The Wallpaper Kids). Her very first book, My First English Picture Dictionary, was published by Clever Publishing in 2024.

Aida also has a small online shop where she sells stationery products decorated with her illustrations. She is very fond of houseplants and dreams of having her own house with a greenhouse. In her spare time, she embroiders clothes. She also has a cat, Salma, who she and her fiancé rescued from the street. Since then, they have lived in four cities and three countries together. Her dream is to one day create a book about their travels.
